Creative store re-design for Marqués de Riscal

Year: 2009. Sales Area: 100m2. Location: Alava, Spain. Title: Do, Re, Mi.

Creative re-design of the store located in one of the most international yet traditional of Spain's wine cellars.

The key points in my meeting with management revolved around the need to sell different products in the winery shop from a brand perspective and a "Green" approach of re-using and getting the most out of current furniture without construction work.

The management team was clear that Marqués de Riscal is a brand name and that a lifestyle can be sold under that brand, which means much more than wine. We organised the area to meet the diverse needs of presenting the product and improving customer circulation. We placed the till at the back as we were looking to welcome customers in a more leisurely way. We turned the windows into "closets" and proceeded to display two very different products: The visit to the wineries from photographs of landmarks and the textile product hanging up.

A catwalk was built to organise impulse buying through tables seeking symmetry with the original lighting.  Panels were created to line the original shelves on the right-hand side wall and prominently present the best wines while promoting self-service with the boxes.
